Dean of Faculty and Professor of Comparative and International Agricultural Politics, conceived and developed the ‘Last Minute Mark’ in 1999, to recover for charitable purposes, goods (food and non-food) that otherwise would have gone unsold. In 2003 the project became a spin off of the University of Bologna, where Segrè is President (www.lastminutemarket.it). In 2010, under the auspices of the European Parliament, he initiated a campaign promoting ‘A Year Against Waste’, to sensitize the European public opinion on the environmental, economic and social waste of resources.
